a few updates

a second time, my entry was disrupted and dislodged by computer glitches and spotty internet connections. As stated in my last attempt, I believe all this difficulty is by the design of the devine providence. I must admit though my patience is wearing thin and willingness to write is dropping to zero. I will simply write down the ideas I had and let time distill them into some meaningful words

The biggest news in the recent past is that I got into Yale Law School. My boss subsequently twisted my arms into deferring my entry to fall of 2006. This, for anoter time, proves my weak minded nature. To justify that this year is not wasted though, I come up with the following list against which I plan to meticulously execute to create an illusion of mortal achievements and to cover up my indolent nature with straps of cloth.

• Try to work in Asia (have leads with Tony Goland and Will Wolf. need to follow up before the end of my current study) The reasons are to follow 1. I eventually would like to work in Asia in a policy making position where I can not only entend my influence to local issues, but also lend my expertise to international dealings/debates/disputes. Such long term plan dictates short term actions. I will need to get to know Asia and show my conviction and bring credibility to my future moves. 2. I can visit home (in)frequently. 3. Working in Asia enables me to visit many places that I otherwise would not get a chance to see. 4. Laurie played a role in my deferring law school. Then God subsequently mocked my effort by sending her to a year in China on Fulbright. As happy as I am for her achievement, it is somewhat a big blow in my face. But an atheist rarely relinquishes at such undesirable arrangement, and tries to defy God's wills with mortal endeavor. By following her to Asia, I hope to visit Laurie from time to time to keep our connection alive.
• Try to do more within McKinsey. 1. See more industries. I have done a number of studies in Telecommunications. Next step is to see more in the following areas: Banking, private equity, pure strategy, industrials 2. Do more on the community service front. I should keep up the Terrell JH effort and push ahead with the office newsletter initiative. 3. I should take advantage of all the training opportunities to learn more about business before I go near the exit door
• Be more active in social life 1. Engage more in sports (tennis, golf, biking, rollerblading, soccer (?), frisbee etc.) 2. pick up Spanish again 3. Get over the sophomore slump and get to know more ladies

I relish the joy of writing and vow to come back to this site more frequently to jot down the random thoughts I continue to indulge myself to incubate. I find it rewarding to think hard through a problem then comb through the thoughts by organizing them into words. Some thoughts I used to cherish the most are now degenerating with old age (yes old age) and I must be more disciplined with writing them down if I plan to take pleasure in reading about those strends of untraceable pieces of ideas that are deeply buried in the past. Oh be it for now-- Miss universe pageant show is on TV. I must go now
